The Rockland Makers Market is a juried market open to artists, craftspeople and makers of all types. You (or a family member) must be the creator of the work you are selling. There are no imports, resellers, vintage/antiques, or direct marketing vendors.

What To Expect: Outdoor selling is fun, exciting, and a great way to meet your community face to face. It is also rain or shine, and there are NO early departures. Some days you may sell very well, some days nothing. We want you to understand what you're signing up for when you sign up. That said, it's also a great way to network, and for many artists and artisans, a great way to sell. Our goal is to provide the highest quality event at the smallest possible cost to participants. Please take a close look at the information below, and contact us if you have any questions.

Location: Rockland Makers Market at the Harbor take place at Harbor Park at 1 Pleasant Street, Rockland, ME. The Cruise Ship Pop-Ups take place at Buoy Park at 3 Park Drive, Rockland, ME. The markets are free and open to the public. Dogs are allowed. There is free parking, including accessible spaces. We will once again request permission for vendors to use the large parking lot next door to leave parking at the park open and available for customers. If vendors do not require an accessible parking space, they will be expected to park at the lot next door, if it is available.

Times: The Rockland Makers Market harbor markets run from 10am to 3pm. Set-up will begin at 8am. You may set-up at any time after 8am, but you must be set up by the start of the market at 10am. Please do not arrive earlier than 8am. You will receive set-up instructions, including your booth number, prior to each date that you participate (usually on the Monday of the week of each market). All vendors should be cleaned up and out of the park by 5pm.

Early Departure/No-Show Policy: The success of each market depends on the commitment of the participating makers.  Early departures from any market is NOT allowed. If an emergency arises and you need to leave early, please notify market staff immediately so that arrangements can be made.

Any early departure or no-show without notification to market staff will result in forfeiture of booth space at future Rockland Makers Market events with no refunds.

Trash: Trash is carry-in/carry-out by each vendor.

Tables, Tents, Displays, Weights:

  • All booth spaces are 10'x10'. Plan your set up to be contained in that area - not overflowing outside.

  • You provide your own tent, table, chair and any other displays. There will be none available to rent at the event. Tents are not required, but highly advisable as we are a rain or shine event.

  • If you are using a tent, you must also provide weights for your tent--AT LEAST 40 LBS PER TENT LEG, clearly anchored/attached to your tent by sturdy means, not resting on the feet of your tent.

  • Tent weights are critical, non-negotiable and REQUIRED. New England weather is not predictable. One gust of wind and a tent can fly—potentially causing an accident, injury or worse.  Many commercial tent makers manufacture weights specifically for this purpose. Please contact us for more information about weights if you are unsure of how to address this issue - there are many low cost ways to make it happen.

  • If you do not bring the required weights with you, with appropriate tethering, you will be asked to remedy the situation prior to the opening of the market, and you will be asked to dismantle your tent until the necessary weights arrive. If you are unable to procure them prior to the market opening time for that day, you will need to go without a tent or leave if the weather is bad. There are no refunds should this situation arise. It's just too important to make exceptions.

Cancellations/Weather Policy: We are a rain or shine event. Makers who do not attend an event due to weather risk forfeiting their spot at future Rockland Makers Market events with no refunds.

That being said, we take safety very seriously and may cancel or close an event early in the event of potentially dangerous weather conditions (including high winds, lightning and heavy rain). In the event of potentially dangerous weather conditions in the forecast, please check the market website or Facebook page after 6:30am to confirm whether the market will proceed on that day. If an event is cancelled or closed early due to weather, refunds will not be issued. It may be possible to apply your booth fee to a future date in the 2025 season, at the discretion of the Rockland Makers Market.

Vendor Information

How to Apply:

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Application is not a guarantee of participation. Your application will be reviewed by our selection committee and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. If you have not heard from us within two weeks, please check your SPAM folder (our emails are often marked as SPAM), then feel free to contact us to check in.

The Rockland Makers Market is juried for each event. We seek to offer a variety of quality artisan crafts, fine art and other handmade goods that a broad audience can enjoy. That may, by default, result in limits to some categories, depending on who has applied for the season or for a particular date. The earlier you apply, the more likely you are to get your preferred dates, if accepted.

Applications from 2025 makers and other invited artisans will be reviewed a week before applications from new applicants. Participation in 2025 does not guarantee acceptance in 2026. The jury reserves the right to update participating vendors at its discretion to keep the mix of goods both balanced and diverse.
